Elderberry Hibiscus Tea
Elderberry Hibiscus Tea — A Bold, Tangy Five-Botanical Blend
Our Elderberry Hibiscus Tea is a vivid, ruby-red infusion built on five plants with deep histories in herbal traditions around the world. We grow the elderberries on our Northern Minnesota farm and source the remaining four botanicals from vetted suppliers we trust for quality and purity.
About the Herbs
Elderberries (Sambucus canadensis) are one of the most widely studied and documented plants in herbal medicine. Used for over 2,000 years in European, North American Indigenous, and folk herbal traditions, elderberries have traditionally been used to support the immune system, address cold and flu symptoms, ease inflammation, and provide a rich source of natural antioxidants. They are also a long-standing folk remedy for respiratory complaints.
Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) has a long history in traditional medicine across Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Egypt, where it is brewed into agua de jamaica and karkadé. Hibiscus has traditionally been used to support cardiovascular health and healthy blood pressure, and as a natural source of vitamin C and antioxidants.
White tea (Camellia sinensis) is the least-processed of all true teas, traditionally valued in Chinese herbal practice for its high antioxidant content and gentle, balanced character. It is one of the most polyphenol-rich teas studied.
Orange peel (Citrus sinensis) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries, where it is known as chen pi. It has traditionally been used to support digestion and circulation, and contributes a bright, citrus aroma.
Mint leaf (Mentha piperita) has been used across European, Middle Eastern, and North American herbal traditions to support digestion and as a cooling, refreshing finish to herbal teas.
About Our Tea
Our Elderberry Hibiscus Tea is a small-batch blend of these five botanicals, with our own farm-grown elderberries as the foundation. We hand-pick ripe berries at peak season and naturally dry them at low temperature to preserve flavor and color. The finished tea is bold, tangy, and ruby-red, with a balanced layering of citrus and cooling mint.
Steeping: One rounded teaspoon in 8 ounces of just-boiled water. Cover and steep 5–7 minutes. Drink hot or chill for iced tea. Pairs beautifully with a spoonful of Elderberry Honey or a splash of Farm-Made Elderberry Syrup.
